During the Christmas Vacation
Practice up, people! Use the warm-up exercises to help you develop coordination, strength, and precision. Use the chords to help establish good fingering and position. Work on memorizing the notes on the bass E string and the A string. You will later understand the value of knowing the notes by heart!
If you want to learn how to play the guitar you've got to PLAY THE INSTRUMENT!
Think about what song or songs you would like to work on when we return to school.
Have a wonderful vacation!

Session 2.1
Session 2.1 was going to be a repeat of session 2 but the folks who showed up were already at session 2.0 so instead we:
worked on warm-up exercises
did a little playing
brainstormed and added to the list of potential songs that we will pick from
The idea is that next time we will pick some songs to work on and get started. Some people playing solo, others in duos or trios....whatever works! It would be nice to have more than one bass guitar player, too! If anyone knows someone who plays bass guitar, ask them if they'd like to join us.
See ya next time!
Session 3 will be Thursday, December 18 from 2:20 - 3:05 p.m.

Session 2.0 - Notes and Chords
Session 2 was a success and a few new faces were seen!
Here's what we worked on:
Demonstration of tuning by harmonics.
Positioning and fingering.
Review of warm-up exercises.
Warm-up exercises together, in time.
Learning the notes on the A string.
Practicing chords, playing together in a progression (G C D am) with bass accompaniment.
Jamming, trading ideas, practicing chords.
It was good to have some bass in there and practice playing together. We're basically playing the song "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan without the vocals.
Guitar Club is moving along and response has been good so far. Let's keep it going! Next time, we'll pick from a list of songs and start setting up duos and trios to practice songs! Don't miss Session 3!
Please note: Session 2 will be offered again on Wednesday, December 10 from 7:00 to 7:30 a.m.
